Data science courses

I spent four years at Dataquest writing data science courses full-time, plus tutorials, guides, and portfolio projects. Nine courses in total, each taking three to four months to build. For every course, I wrote the theory and the coding exercises, created the portfolio project, briefed the designer, ran the beta test, and maintained the course after launch.

  1. The company’s most important course, and the first one most learners took.

  2. Sampling, variables, and frequency distributions.

  3. Bayes’ theorem, ending with a spam filter built with the Naive Bayes algorithm.

  4. Each chart tied to the statistical idea it shows: line graphs for time series, scatter plots for correlation, histograms for distributions.

  5. How to design for an audience using Gestalt principles, pre-attentive attributes, and storytelling techniques.

  6. For loops, conditionals, and dictionaries.
